Our eco web hosting.
At Green House, we carefully calculate the carbon emissions produced as a result of our eco web hosting servers being on 24 hours a day. We then offset these emissions by planting trees at Ransom Wood Business Park in Nottinghamshire. As the trees we plant are young and will absorb much more carbon as they grow, we will, in the long term, be a carbon-positive company.
We can, therefore, have a more positive environmental impact than companies that use renewable energy, as well as providing a better value for money service.
Computer equipment currently accounts for 3-4% of the world’s carbon emissions, and 10% of the UK’s energy bill. With a carbon footprint now equal to the aviation industry, the IT industry, and businesses, are increasingly coming under the spotlight as governments seek to achieve carbon-cutting commitments.
Green House aims to counter this trend by offering individuals and business a carbon-positive web hosting service. We carefully calculate the carbon emissions of our whole business and ensure that significantly more than this total is absorbed by our trees in Ransom Wood Business Park in Nottinghamshire.
Personal, friendly and reliable UK customer service
Here at Green House, we don’t oversell our hosting packages and we don’t treat our customers as faceless accounts. We sign up every single plan personally and we know each customer and website we host.
When you request support it will be our UK based customer service team which responds, not a third party call centre. So whilst our hosting technicians are constantly working away to ensure the servers are functioning as they should be, we’re here to answer queries and provide support for your individual requirements.
We’re web designers too, working in the industry, so we can provide real website support. That’s not something many hosting providers can do.
Green and responsible right from our roots.
Green House is a brand of BR Web Design, which is a web design business built on green foundations. BR Web Design is committed to doing everything it can to minimise its own impact on the environment. We have full environmental policies and here is a summary of a few things that are important to us;
We recycle as much as we can from our offices such as paper, equipment, and e-waste.
We do everything that we can to keep paper use to a minimum, to preserve our paperless culture.
We re-use, up-cycle and by as resourceful as we can with office equipment
We only use suppliers with positive eco-credentials and we use high quality, energy efficient computer equipment.
